His works become populated with recurring iconographies such as goats, airplanes, coins, animals, playing cards, mathematical formulas, and little birds. His technique evolves significantly in the second half of the decade: from free strokes and light brushwork, inspired by Eastern calligraphy, he transitions to a more precise and defined language, with ink at the center of the composition. This medium allows him to enhance the delicacy and elegance of the mark, while simultaneously maintaining structural rigor.

Mathematical elements—such as the magical squares introduced in the 1980s, number sequences, and formulas—continue to occupy a central place in his work. These details are drawn with extreme precision, almost always in red, with rare incursions of yellow and blue.
